Pet exercise

What indoor exercise for dogs can I try?

In very hot, cold or wet weather conditions, it’s not safe for your pet to be outside. The good news is there are plenty of fun indoor activities you can do to keep their body and mind active.

Cats and smaller dogs are easy to exercise indoors with the usual toys and games, but for those with larger dogs, try some of the following activities:

  • Teach your pooch some tricks, to stimulate those mental muscles.
  • Run up and down the stairs together.
  • Play tug-of-war with a chew toy.
  • If you have the space, set up an indoor obstacle course in your living room using household items.
  • A passageway makes  suitable space for a round of fetch (be sure to use a non-bouncy ball).
  •  Organise a play date with a friendly pooch that your dog is comfortable with.
